Two Short Stories & Twelve Poems & : Nathalie M.
Nathalie M. didn't read a novel of her own volition until she was well past the age of 8. She contented herself with catalogues, illustration books, and atlases, admiring their pretty pictures with a kind of defiance to her very literary family. It wasn't until A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket, was gifted into her dubious hands that she finally awoke to the wonders of fiction. Soon after finishing that series, Nathalie closed herself off from the world, a 9 year old hermit, to devour the likes of Agatha Christie and Ray Bradbury. English class held a draw like never before, and within a year, Nathalie owned her first pair of glasses, purple and polka-dotted, as a result of her constant state of reading (and genetics-- thanks, mom). Feeling cheated by her late start to literature, Nathalie attacked it with a passion she previously only revealed in the presence of dark chocolate. In short, Nathalie had metamorphosed into a bookworm.
Her introduction to poetry came much more gracefully than to prose, and she has written her favorite poems on her wall, mercifully in pencil. Her favorite writers, poets and novelists alike, include Haruki Murakami, Philip K Dick, Sylvia Plath, Zora Neal Hurston, Walt Whitman, E E Cummings, and Kurt Vonnegut. Of course, Lemony, Agatha, and Ray, will always hold a place in her heart.
Besides writing, Nathalie enjoys being a part of her crew team, painting, and baking. She loves the sea and would surely wither if ever land-locked. Most of her inspiration comes from her own life and the wonderful people in it, but she gives most of her credit to her teachers: her dog, the aforementioned writers, her family, and her friends.
She hopes you enjoy her work!
