Poem by Rie Sheridan Rose
Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time,
the fairy tales say,
a shoeless girl
became a queen.
An over-sleeper
got a wake-up call.
A runaway kept house
for a lot of bachelors.
A forgetful queen
was good at guessing.
A girl let down her hair
for a good time.
A brother and sister
learned to cook.
Perspective makes a difference…
once upon a time.
Once upon a time,
the fairy tales say,
a shoeless girl
became a queen.
An over-sleeper
got a wake-up call.
A runaway kept house
for a lot of bachelors.
A forgetful queen
was good at guessing.
A girl let down her hair
for a good time.
A brother and sister
learned to cook.
Perspective makes a difference…
once upon a time.
