Now Accepting Poetry Translations!
As a provider of poetry, The Basil O' wants to be accessible to as many readers as possible! We have received submissions from many artists whose first language WAS NOT English, yet all our poetry is in English. As an Editor-in-Chief who (so far) can only successfully read English, the only way to make our poetry more accessible to the masses is to ask poets who write in different languages to submit their poetry in English and then as a translated poem.
Whatever other language you can write your poem in, we want to see it! If you aren't a poet, but are a translator, we accept translations from you as well, but you must show proof that you own the right to translate that piece.
To submit translations, email [email protected] and title your email "Translation, Author Name, Date", and send your work as an attached Word document.
To kick this off, I have decided to try my hand at translating my own pieces. I am in the process of learning how to write in Dutch, and below is one of my poems in English and in Dutch. I hope some of you join me and send your translations our way!
